Technologies for automatic production control are an integral part of Brovedani’s processing system. The Group uses a broad range of direct and artificial vision devices - such as optical, laser and hybrid systems - along with a host of standard equipment (roughness and roundness meters by Taylor Hobson, 3D Zeiss and Dea; Smartscope and Leica optical calipers; Zygo optical interferometer; Nikon and Dea profile projectors, etc.) and self-constructed/dedicated instruments such as the automatic calipers employed for performing visual and dimensional checks, with subsequent sorting into classes.

Depending on customers’ requests and on the type of component involved, the check can be performed on a sample taken from production or, to ensure zero defects, it can be carried out on 100% of the units produced, even when the components are made at high rates of manufacture.

What’s more, test sequences for components can be sent and received remotely over the Internet, which results in a continuous transfer of information, e-training for employees, and cross-checking of quality tests in real time on the Brovedani network, with consequent reductions in (or prevention of) wasted materials.
