One of Brovedani’s basic resources is its know-how. As the Group sees it, know-how is defined as the abilities of single individuals that are in turn “imbued” with the abilities of an organization which takes up new challenges. In other words, know-how is composed of skills and knowledge channeled into creating value. And the best way to protect this know-how is to create and maintain a dynamic “company DNA” that is hard to copy because it is constantly evolving. However, the need to protect the combined intellectual capital of individuals and their organization must be reconciled with the more immediate need to share knowledge within the company and with outside suppliers, customers and other firms in the local area. Thus, interconnection, networking and creating a system are extremely important because they spread knowledge beyond the confines of the company and extend it to the socio-economic and cultural fabric in order to achieve mutual growth. For Brovedani, this philosophy is translated into well-defined methodologies. On the one hand, the transfer of knowledge (Knowledge Management) within the Group using tools such as information technology creates an internal community of practice and learning. On the other, there is a continuous, external exchange of technological culture not only with other companies, but also with local institutions, universities (in Udine, Trieste, Pordenone, Padua, etc.), and training and research institutes. This exchange is enhanced by solid programs that link the institutions involved, such as the Keymec Center of Innovation, Research and Training in Mechanics.
